SUSTAINABILITY at the CRAFT BREWERS CONFERENCE
WHAT: The biggest conference and trade show in the craft brewing industry is featuring a sustainability track this year featuring yours truly, plus big names in sustainable brewing such as Sierra Nevada brewery owner Ken Grossman, folks from New Belgium, Great Lakes Brewing, and much more.

BEER ACTIVIST at SHIRLINGTON LIBRARY, BUSBOYS & POETS
WHAT
: Book reading, discussion, and organic beer tasting.
WHEN
: Sunday, December 2, 2007, 3-5pm
WHERE
: From 3-4pm, I’ll be speaking at the Shirlington, VA public library, 4200 Campbell Avenue, Arlington, VA 22206 (the environmentally-designed Shirlington Library is worth a visit in its own right - they are currently applying to the US Green Building Council to have the facility recognized as a LEED certified green building); then from 4-5, we’ll move across the street to Shirlington’s new radical cafe/bookstore Busboys and Poets for a book signing and organic beer reception.

ORGANIC BEER TASTING
Why
: Fundraiser for Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE).
When: November 4, 2-4pm

FERMENTING REVOLUTION: HOW TO DRINK BEER & SAVE THE WORLD

Why: A free public lecture about how to drink beer and save the world. The real question is: “Why not?”

PHILADELPHIA BEER APPRECIATION COURSE
When: Tuesday nights from 7-8:30 pm, Sept. 25 thru Oct. 30
Where:
Haverford Township Library Community Room, Haverford, PA (on the outskirts of Philly)
Why: Live in the Philadelphia area? Love beer? Now is your chance to learn everything you ever wanted to know about beer but were afraid to ask. Join course instructor Peter L. Cherpack and friends for a five-class course in beer appreciation. Sign up before the spots are all gone! Classes include special guest beer experts (ahem, including me), tutored beer tastings at each class and a special class-only brewery tour.
