Beer #12: Human Salvation in a Bottle?

salvation

Avery Brewing in Bolder, Colorado and Russian River in Santa Rosa, California both brew Belgian style beers they independently named Salvation. When the coincidence was discovered, rather than become adversaerial, they chose a path of cooperation. Instead of competing for the rights to the name as other breweries might do, they decided to live and let live, and even decided to brew a special beer together that is a blend of their Salvations.

The result is a beer they named Collaboration Not Litigation Ale.

In the spirit of the holiday season (yeah, I know its January 3rd, but don’t worry this is the last in the Twelve Beers of Christmas series) I’ve decided to support this example of goodwill among men the best way I know how: by drinking their beer! Avery’s Salvation was the only one of the three I could find locally, so here I sit enjoying this Belgian style golden ale and hoping the rest of this year tastes as sweet as this beer.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
